Epee bout in the 1980 NCAA Championships between Gil Pezza of Wayne State and Geoff Pinagree of MIT. The referee for the epee finals is Hall of Famer Erwin F. Bernstein who was the current AFLA President at the time of these championships.

1985 SI article: "From 1975 to '84 the Wayne State Tartars won six NCAA championships, and over a span of 45 years have taken 17 individual fencing titles and produced more than 50 All-Americas, five last year. When the best college fencers in the U.S. compete in the [1985] NCAA championships this week in South Bend, Ind., Wayne State—a school surrounded by low-income housing projects and framed by three highways—is a co-favorite, with Notre Dame, to win its fourth straight title." Final results: Wayne State defeated Notre Dame 141:140 to win the NCAA title again.
